A deposit of $500.00 is required to reserve space. Additional payments may be made at anytime, after deposit, or upon billing. Full payment is due 60 days prior to departure. Credit card payments will incur an additional 3.3% fee.
Cancellation/ Refunds Policy
Prior to departure, cancellation charges are as follows for land costs:
61 or more days prior to departure $500.00
60 - 31 days prior to departure 50% of land cost plus supplier fees
30 days prior to departure 100% of land cost
Airfare refunds are subject to certain airline restrictions and penalties. All cancellations must be requested in writing. Refunds will be calculated from the date the written cancellation is received by Meticulous Tours. Trip cancellation insurance is strongly recommended. Travel insurance is available upon request.
No refunds will be made for any unused accommodations and/or any missed meals, sightseeing tours or unused services of chartered transportation. All tours will leave promptly, as per itinerary, from designated locations. It is the responsibility of the tour participant to arrive on time for all scheduled flights and tour activities. If a participant is late for a flight or prescheduled departure, it will be his/her responsibility to rejoin the tour, in progress, and personally incur all additional costs.
All airfares are on regularly scheduled flights, and are included in the tour quotation. The fares are based on round trip economy class. Upgrade to business class is available upon request, at additional cost. Tickets will be issued, as per your name on the passport. Any changes to the issued tickets will incur a fee of $300.00 or more. Seats are assigned at the discretion of the airline and may be changed by the carrier without notice due to a change in equipment or schedule.
Accommodation offered will be in three, four or five star hotels/lodges, as disclosed in the itinerary. Accommodations will be provided in hotels or game lodges based on two persons sharing a twin-bedded/double bedded room with en suite bathroom, or shower and toilet. Single supplement, is available upon request at additional cost. Meticulous Tours offers standard rooms, at deluxe and first-class accommodations, as defined by the hospitality industry or trade custom of the region. The right is reserved to substitute hotels or lodges when necessary in the same or superior category. It is standard policy for hotels not to be available for check-in before 2:00pm.
Economy class allowance, per tour participant, is two checked pieces of luggage, free of charge, 50lbs. per piece, not to exceed 62 inches (length+breadth+height). One piece of carry-on baggage, not to exceed 45 inches. In case of excess weight, there will be a flat fee of $25.00(subject to change) up to 70lbs. On certain flights within Southern Africa, strict luggage restrictions apply. On a light aircraft, for fly-in safaris, the total figure goes down to 24 pounds per person in soft, crushable luggage. Excess baggage or storage cost maybe incurred. Luggage should have outside identification tags. Tour participants are responsible for monitoring their baggage throughout the tour. Any loss, delay or damage should be settled with the airline, directly. Baggage insurance is strongly recommended. Meticulous Tours accepts no responsibility for loss or damage to baggage, or other personal effects. Travel insurance is available upon request.
Upon receipt of your reservation, we will send you a complete set of personalized trip information, including a preliminary itinerary, facts on weather, clothing, shopping, foreign currency, etc. Four weeks prior to departure we will send you a travel wallet containing your tickets, baggage tags, itinerary, a list of tour members and other informative material. Our intention is to follow, the itinerary as precisely as possible. In the event that it becomes necessary or advisable, or for any reason whatsoever, to alter the itinerary or arrangements, such alterations may be made with substitution of similar or better category. Additional expenses, if any, shall be borne by tour participants. For group tours, Meticulous Tours reserves the right to cancel the tour if there are insufficient participants, and the tour is not economically feasible. A full refund will be granted for the cancelled tour, but Meticulous Tours is not responsible for other costs incurred by participants preparing for the tour.
U.S. citizens must have a valid passport to travel. Your passport must be valid for six months after your return to the U.S. There is no visa required for U.S. passport holders for travel to South Africa, Botswana, Namibia and Swaziland. For visa information to all other countries, consult the embassy of the country you will be traveling to. Non-U.S. citizens should check visa requirement details with their respective country consulates. South Africa requires three consecutive unused visa pages in your passport. You will not be allowed to depart the United Stated without the extra required pages. Passport, as well as compliance with customs regulations, is your responsibility. Your participation in the tour is with full knowledge that certain inherent dangers and risks may arise. The US State Department issues travel advisories for areas where dangers may be encountered. Meticulous Tours will do its best to ensure that all adequate measures are taken to avoid such circumstances but is not responsible for circumstances beyond its control.
The tour is carefully planned and arranged by Meticulous, Inc. d.b.a. Meticulous Tours. The suppliers providing transportation, sightseeing arrangements, and hotel accommodations for the tour are independent contractors and are not employees of Meticulous Tours. Meticulous Tours is not responsible for any act, error, or omission, change in price by itinerary or carrier, or for any injury, or loss, accident, death or delay to the passenger due to any cause whatsoever, and disclaims responsibility or liability for the acts of the owners or employees of any hotel or any other facility or subcontractor. Your participation in the tour is with full knowledge that certain inherent dangers and risks may arise. Meticulous Tours will do its best to ensure that all adequate measures are taken to avoid such circumstances but is not responsible for circumstances beyond its control. The tour participant assumes the risk associated with the tour including forces of nature, terrorism, civil unrest, war, accident and transportation including vehicles, boats and aircrafts that are not operated or maintained to standards found in North America. Meticulous Tours is not responsible for any risk associated with altitude, illness, disease, physical exertion and alcoholic consumption. Access to evacuation and/or suitable medical supplies and support may not be available in some countries on the itinerary. Airlines concerned are not to be held responsible for any act, omission, or event during the time you are not on board the aircraft. The passage contract in use by the airline, when issued, constitutes the sole agreement between it and you. Meticulous Tours reserves the right to decline any person as tour participant should such person's health, mental condition or physical disability impede the operation of the tour or the rights, welfare, or enjoyment of other tour participants and shall be under no liability to that person. Travelers requiring extraordinary assistance must be accompanied by someone who can and will be totally responsible for providing all required assistance. Meticulous Tours is not responsible for denial of service by carrier, hotels and other suppliers due to disability. Tour participants are responsible for ensuring sufficient good health to undertake the tour. By forwarding the deposit, the participant certifies that he/she has no physical, mental or other condition of disability that could create a hazard for himself/herself or other passengers and accepts the terms and conditions of this contract.
